Since I upgraded to 5.3 I keep crashing

When I was working in 5.2 I had no issues saving my work, since I upgraded to 5.3 I keep crashing when saving. I cannot even place a cube actor in an empty world & save it.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong because I am out of ideas since I even tried a full uninstall and reinstall with a disk defrag in between.

Here is the log.

Hey there @Pakanohida! Does this issue apply for all 5.3 projects or just the one you upgraded to 5.3? This log doesn’t mention the callstack, we could dig it up using the Crash GUID listed in that log, or better if possible could you trigger the crash again and paste the crash context from the crash reporter window that comes up?

Hello!

I would migrate the project into a fresh copy and see what happens.

I have been trying to sort the actual location of when it would crash but here is what I got.

Steps to reproduce my crash:

  1. Click on Unreal Engine Icon on Desktop of OS.
  2. Click Games
  3. Click Blank
  4. Click Ray Tracing & keep Starter Content checked.
  5. Leave project name as is and click “create”
  6. Click File
  7. Click New Level.
  8. Click Empty World
  9. Click Create
  10. On the place actors tab, clck geometery.
  11. Drag & drop and a “Box” into the viewport
  12. Under Details, set location to 0,0,0
  13. Set Scale to 10,10,1
  14. Drag and drop from the content browser the “T_CobbleStone_Pebble_D”
  15. Click File
  16. Click Save All
    Unreal Editor now crashes.

This issue is applying to all projects. I have no upgraded projects anymore after the fresh install.

Gotcha, could you recreate the crash and retrieve the crash context from the original crash window since the log doesn’t seem to have the crash information?

If the callstack is blank, you can follow the video here that gives some information about crashes as well as how to get editor symbols:
