I need help creating a very simple first person system that entails a very simple weapon swing animation and the actual set up in the blueprints to make it work. I don’t want there to be attached arms, I just want the weapon to swing/stab in a preset direction and damage whatever is in front of the player. I’m a total beginner with Unreal, and I’m just trying to create a proof-of-concept “game” for now, so something simple and effective is greatly appreciated.
Try looking up some platform movement tutorials that use timelines. You could use that basic concept inside your first person character blueprint to get that effect. Move the sword instead of the platform.
