shadercomplexity shows brightness

So we are developing for mobile and when working on the shaders I noticed some strange behaviour. The Shadercomplexity in ES2 preview mode seems to be tied to the brightness of the color.

Let me demonstrate:

I dont really understand why this should happen and if it in fact means that brighter materials need more shader instructions so that this will influence the games performance, or if its just a bug.
