Ribbon Particle Emmitter Keeps Deactivating

I’ve been trying to create a ribbon trail for a golf game I’m creating, but I’ve hit a roadblock. I’ve tried tweaking with the lifetime of the particle system to no avail. The trail should follow the golf ball in the air and remain visible after the ball has landed. It doesn’t have to remain visible indefinitely I would just like 1 or 2 seconds after it lands then have it disappear. Right now no matter what I try the system disappears when the ball lands.

(side notes: 1. I would also like if the trail had some cooler effects than what I have if anyone has some suggestions to have more than just a basic ribbon)

I’ve included my blueprints for the projectile(golf ball) as well if there is something wrong in there. The decals are a separate system so just ignore them.

You probably have Kill on Deactivate checked, instead of Kill on Completed. It’s under Required.
