Reimport of FBX scene does not save normal option changes

Epic guys!

If I do a FBX scene import with “Compute normals” as normal import method. Then a reimport of the scene with option “Import normals and tangents”. The new normals does not stick after an editor restart.
It’s only working if I choose “Import normals and tangents” at first import.

I checked this in 4.12.5 and our latest 4.13 Preview release and I am not seeing the issue you’ve reported here with my tests.

These are my steps:

  • File > Import into Scene
  • Go to Static Meshes Tab
  • Leave as Default settings and import asset
  • In the Content Browser Right-Click on the FBX Scene Import Data asset and select Reimport
  • On the Static Meshes tab change Normal Import Method to Import Normals and Tangents.
  • Click Reimport.
  • Save all.
  • Restart the editor
  • In the Content Browser Right-Click on the FBX Scene Import Data asset and select Reimport
  • The window opens and the options are still the same.

If I am missing something can you please elaborate on your steps for clarity.
