Re-import Alembic Cache. Materials not Assigned Correctly.

Hi there,

Is there a way to keep materials assigned to the right objects when re-importing Alembic caches?

My process so far has been:

  1. Import an alembic cache that has an animated character as a Skeletal Mesh with Morph targets
  2. Create materials in Unreal and assign them to the different objects on the Skeletal mesh
  3. Re-import a new alembic cache with a tweaked/longer animation

However, after I do step 3, it appears all the materials I previously assigned got all jumbled up. They aren’t applied to the correct meshes anymore.

We’re going to be swapping out the alembic caches quite frequently. Is there a way to keep the materials assigned to the correct meshes when re-importing a new cache?
