Recently my project seems to have developed a problem at essentially random times when the camera is looking at the ocean water asset there will be a massive decrease in frame rate usually down to a third or lower. This is solely GPU based and after testing I determined it was the water from the unreal water plugin that was causing it. The bug will appear at essentially random times and will immediately go away if the camera is pointed towards the key or go away on its own after a short period. The image shows the profile of the GPU usage.
Is there any way to fix this or should I attempt to create my own water material.
Also my RHIT will go very high at random times though that doesn’t appear to affect the frame rate.
