Quality of mesh dissapearing when zooming out

Hi,

So ive loaded in a building via Datasmith and im trying to get the entire building in frame but when i zoom out the quality of the mesh dissapears. im not quite sure what causes this. im pretty new to unreal so i have no clue where i should try and look to solve this.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

It’s LODs. In the mesh editor, have a look here:

It’s totally configurable. You can choose when it changes LOD, how much reduction there is in each LOD etc.

Hey ClockworkOcean,

After looking into it, i have not set any LOD’s, they should all be LOD 0 but still the quality dissapears, this is what it looks like when halfway looking at the facade

Is there a setting where i should be looking that changes the Level of detail outside of LOD’s being set automatically?

Thanks in advance

Thank you very much, it was indeed the Dynamic Shadow distance, looks like i cant use a dynamic light source because i wont be able to put it to a higher value than 20k, so ill just change the directional light to movable to work around the issue

Like I say, you can type in higher numbers…

If you have no LODs, then it could be shadow distance on the directional light:

You can type in higher numbers.

PS: The LODs are set automatically.
