I understand the frustration here. We are aware of the issues surrounding Verse hot-reload and I can assure you that we (including myself) are actively investigating ways to improve this workflow. We have several fixes already scheduled for upcoming releases which will fix various scenarios in which Verse hot-reload does not work (especially related to asset reflection), along with an improvement that will also explicitly notify you when a hot-reload operation has failed on the server and why.
There are some cases where unfortunately Verse hot-reload will not be able to be used and you will have to do a “full” Push Changes, but hopefully with these upcoming improvements it will be more clear as to what went wrong and the UI will prompt you to push changes directly when the hot-reload operation fails.
EDIT: As of 28.00, the UI should now pop up and prompt you when your Verse hot-reload operation fails and allow you to do a full [Push Changes] operation instead. Admittedly this is only an incremental improvement, but hopefully it will help reduce confusion surrounding your Verse changes.
