Punching holes/deep dents in static meshes - how?

I need to rip a hole on one of my meshes. I can certainly do that in Blender and re-export, but it’s a multiLOD static mesh and I don’t want to mess with the setup all over again.

Is there a tool to do the task in the Editor ?

I was also thinking that maybe using “deep well” mesh as mesh decal would do the trick? If so, how would I do that ?

Depends on how deep the dent should be.
POM decal could work, if it is meant to be on relatively flat surface.
Vertex painting WPO as an alternative, but the mesh gotta be dense enough and it involves recalculating normals in the shader.
