I’m trying to speed up my compilation time using the official guide here A new, community-hosted Unreal Engine Wiki - Announcements and Releases - Unreal Engine Forums
Here’s my current BuildConfiguration.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Configuration xmlns="https://www.unrealengine.com/BuildConfiguration"> <BuildConfiguration> <bUseUnityBuild>false</bUseUnityBuild> <MinFilesUsingPrecompiledHeader>1</MinFilesUsingPrecompiledHeader> <ProcessorCountMultiplier>2</ProcessorCountMultiplier> </BuildConfiguration> </Configuration>
While building in Visual Studio, it says the ProcessCountMultiplier is an invalid element. I tried placing it directly inside <Configuration> aswell but to no avail.
Does it go in some other element or is this element just deprecated?
Apart from that, does anyone have any general tips besides the official docs on speeding up compile times? Currently it takes about 20-30 seconds for small changes. Just a small if-statement recently took 200 seconds to compile.
