Procedural generation of Landscapes?


well, I guess the topic tells it all. Does anybody have any idea of how I would go if I wanted to procedurally generate Terran in UE?

I’m thinking of rather big landscapes, like in Civilization 5 or Beyond Earth. I have seen some approaches that render each Hexagon in their terrain as separate assets, but when I look at Civ 5, it seems to be all in one Landscape, that looks smooth and nicely interconnected.
