Please help! I can't save my project anymore! (and so, can't close UE or use my computer)

I asked over at Reddit first, in hopes someone could help me, but nothing so far (after about 12 hours).
So now I’m here, and I’m really really hoping someone can help me, or hours of work has to be lost :frowning:

Whenever I try to save, I get this Error message. When I ask it to check into it further, I get the second picture.

I don’t know what to do with this. I can’t save it, and a lot of work had gone into it before I noticed the issue (I’m also pretty sure the problem disappeared suddenly at one point, and then came back again later). If I have to close it down now, without saving it, I’m losing hours of work, and stuff I barely just figured out how to do, and a bunch of minor fixes I was doing with level layout. It would really suck. I’m really hoping any of you here can give me some insight into what could be causing this, and how I can fix it so I can save the darn project!

This error has popped up before. This AnswerHub post should point you in the right direction regarding solving it. It’s usually the result of doing something funky with an object reference in a construct script.

I’ve seen this error before and it had absolutely nothing to do with construction scripts.
It was to do with renaming objects and BP being in different states of compile / changes.
UE4 is far from perfect as regards renaming assets/objects/blueprints, it gets confused.
One example is using the same name to re-name an object that was just deleted before.

Options:
Don’t risk closing! Instead open the project in 2nd UE4 session, what state is everything in?
If the bulk of the work is in BP, then you can also copy/paste some of that out to notepad.
But what I’ve done before to solve this is duplicate the bad assets to new files, they save!
Then I open the whole project in a 2nd / 3rd UE4 editor session and check everything there.
Better still, if you have a second box too that you can clone the project over to and retest…

Try using Duplicate then just ‘tick save’ on those assets: BTW: You only attached 1 image!
