Player Doubles in Size after Exiting Vehicle?

using the enter/exit vehicle blueprint from epic, after exiting the car the character doubles in size. if you enter and exit again it goes back to normal.
i was using the first person template, so i tried it with shooter game with 3rd person camera and it happens here too.

anyone come across this (and a fix maybe)?

my car mesh is set at x2, must be this but why does the player take on that scale…
