Player character keeps dying from its own attack... how to fix?

Can someone help me figure out why my own attack is damaging my character? Please let me know if there’s a way I can set the paragon character I’m using as permanently immune to its own attacks…

Add “Self” to the “Ignore Actors” input in Apply Radial Damage

Also, for my knowledge: Might you know why my existing method didn’t work? I have player controller plugged into “damage causer,” and when I hovered over the description of damage causer, it says damage won’t apply to the causer. I figured that’d do the trick, but it didn’t.

Put Self (the character) into damage causer, and put player controller into “instigated by controller”
