Pitch Black Shadows with Jagged Edges When Indirect Lighting is Off

Hello, I have a map where I have stationary lights that turn on/off. I turned the indirect lighting in order to be able for the stationary lights to turn off completely. However, as I turn the indirect lighting off, shadows from objects look pitch black, and the edges look jagged. I guess the obvious solution would be to turn off the shadows, however that’ll make the environment look less realistic and make the light go through the walls to the other rooms. Is there a way to make the shadows look better from a stationary light that turns on/off? I’ll include pictures. Thank you.
