Physics constraint wobbly with small objects?

So yeah.

I’ve been trying to use physics constraints for a thing, and it looks like smaller objects cause physical constraints to become REALLY wobbly (independently of mass, and independently of scale - a 0.2 units wide object at scale 1, and a 1 unit wide object at 0.2 scale will wobble the same way). “Limited” joints mean nothing really, as even gravity will bend the object out of the way beyond the specified limit angle. Similarly, linear/angular drives require MUCH higher forces for a similar behavior.

Is this something I can fix, or workaround other than “use large, invisible and intangible objects as dummy in joints”? Or is it just LOLPHYSX?
