Pawn or Character as parent class?

I have a board game-esque prototype that I’m putting together and I am wondering what is the most appropriate parent class for the game pieces. They’re not humanoid so they do not need the built in support that the character class would provide, but might there be other reasons that I would still want to subclass from the character class instead of from pawn?

I think the only different is collision, character has a root component and you can check if something collides with it right off the bat. You can do this with pawn too but you have to write your code manually. Honestly they are very similar and Character extends from Pawn anyways, I would just use character.
