Particle emitter moving with HMD

This occurs in both Googlevr and GearVR:

I’m trying to have some ‘dust particles’ float around in a googlevr / gearvr environment. It works fine on the Vive/PC but on the mobile device (S7) when looking up and down the particles move with the HMD. Looking left and right however works correctly.

I tried ticking ‘remove HMD roll’ and all different options for ‘screen alignment’ however there is no difference.

Is there a workaround to get this working?
