OSX UE4.14 Random Crash issues

I haven’t seen any mention of it here, so I thought I would try to put it out there.
I’m getting a crash in UE4.14 every session on Mac OSX (10.11.6). I rarely experience a crash with 4.13.2. So there’s definitely something different going on in 4.14. I’d love to work in the latest rev, unfortunately, every attempt to move to 4.14 is thwarted by these crashes.

Anyway, because it doesn’t happen immediately (it can take several hours) , I’m lulled into thinking that it’s not going to happen ( in this session!)… until it does. So I haven’t pinned down any firm steps yet. However, crashes seem to occur while using the Blueprint Editor. ( The last one was a simple look up into the Add Action window of an AI Character Blueprint. Selecting the “Get Blackboard” node and adding it to the blueprint crashed UE4.14.)

If there is a better place for me to post this, please let me know. Thanks

Also a lot of crashes in 4.14. UE not only but also the entire system.
Saving materials takes longer than 4.13

Should we update to for better performance?

Hi ,

Please provide as many of the following as possible:

  1. Your Mac’s specs. You can find this in the Apple menu >About This Mac>More Info> Add the information from this window (serial # not necessary).
  2. The “System Report:” Apple menu >About This Mac > System Report>Hardware (All information listed in the “Hardware Overview.”) You can cut and paste this information or provide screen shots, whichever is more convenient.
  3. **If the Crash Reporter window is present when the crash occurs, select “Copy Callstack to the Clipboard,” and paste that information in a document and add to this post. Be sure to hit “Submit” on the Crash Reporter pop-up to send the Crash Report to Epic.
  4. The UE4.log (Located: ~/Library/Logs/Unreal Engine/Editor/)
  5. The ProjectName.log (Located: ~/Library/Logs/Unreal Engine/ProjectNameEditor/)

Providing this information and appropriate logs will help us track down and isolate the source of the bug as quickly and efficiently as possible. **This is the primary information we need

Thanks for your cooperation,

Hi ,

Since we have not heard back from you in a while, we are marking this post “resolved” for tracking purposes. However, if you are still experiencing random crashes please respond with the requested information and we will continue to investigate.

Tomorrow (December 8, 2016) the first Hot Fix for UE4.14 is scheduled to be release which addresses a number of crashes. Please try this update tomorrow and let us know if you are continuing to experience these crashes. If so, as I mentioned above, the best way to help us identify these crashes is with the information requested above. Particularly the Crash Reporter data when you have hit the “submit” button and providing us with your Machine ID so we can find your specific system in our database.

Thanks for your cooperation,

.

Thanks,

.
