It makes most sense to start with Blender its free and does everything you will ever need and in many cases does it faster and better. For example it has native CUDA rendering built in if you need it, other software needs expensive plugins to get this feature.
Alternatively emailing other companies and letting them know you are just starting off and you are looking for something at a discount otherwise you will dedicate your time to the learning curve of Blender will almost surely net you a nice discount on Modo.
Blender is essentially other software with a different name. It does the same thing.
