I wanted to package a simple test to see how my game looked outside the editor. However, when I tried packaging it, it says it needs Visual Studio. I don’t have Visual Studio, and I do not use any C++ code or external addons in my game, so why is it saying it needs it?
This^ is one of the hidden costs of using Unreal that doesn’t get talked about enough.
If you remove all your Plugin dependencies you can probably still package it though!
But how useful is that advice? Its unsatisfying / not really a very practical answer imo.
Here’s hoping BP + Verse-Scripting in UE5 is a fully integrated environment like UDK.
