Need a blank screen for when pawn is invalid, joining multiplayer session

Currently when joining a multiplayer game, the player joins the map, sees a flash of a screen before the server creates a pawn for the player then it’s normal. There’s a very small timeframe in which the player controller has connected to the session but the pawn hasn’t been created for the player yet. In this time, the player sees an odd camera view, half submerged in the ground. It looks odd. It goes away quick but it’s a very messy transition.

What I would love to do is just prevent the camera from rendering for a moment. I know I can use a UMG widget to block the screen or the Camera Fade but both of these are not quick enough to block the screen before the flash occurs.

Is there anything I can do to manage the camera for when the pawn is invalid?
