My Engine crashes any time I try opening editor preferences

So when I try to open either preferences’ or ‘project settings’ menus the editor freezes for a short time and then closes. This occurs when I try to open those menus with any project.

What I suspect is, that the install folder of the engine or project folder(s) could be write protected i.e., that there might be an issue with accesing the file system.

Did you try to create a project on a different location on your drive? Just to check if its project location related or if its related to the engine itself. If its the later, maybe a re-install of the engine might resolve the problem. Or did you already re-installed the engine.

Does it happen on multiple engine versions, or just on a specific one?

I have already reinstalled the engine

The reason for me was, interestingly, that the 32bit epic games launcher was chosen by default (and ue5 in 32-bit mode as well I assume). Starting in 64bit mode fixed it all for me.
