I have been following a tutorial on texturing in Painter and moving everything into UE 5.2.
I have reached a complete block on progress, however, as my asset - a wall with windows, is using multiple separate materials in 1 fbx. Ie the wall is using a wall material, and the windows need a window sill and glass material. I baked maps and masks inside Painter but cannot figure out how to combine said masks when connecting them to the relevant nodes in my Master material in UE. I would be very grateful for any help!
Translucent materials need to be separated out in your 3d application by assigning them a separate material slot. Realtime translucency needs it’s own shading model and is lower quality and causes more of a performance impact than opaque materials. You could try doing it with one material, but it’ll look worse and performance worse.
