I am working through some concepts currently as I learn UE4.
One of the concepts/projects I want to work on includes multiplayer vehicles. (Ships, cars, trucks… )
I know one of the common approaches is seat possession, where pawns possess, and then are in control or have limited movement within the confines of the actor.
What I was curious about was if we could use digitech’s orbital gravity concept and have the vehicle actor possess a gravity which would then bind a non possessed pawn to the vehicle so they could move around while it was in motion.
One of my spare time games is Empyrion, you have ability to create massive space ships, but unless you are possessing one of the seats, when the ship moves you stay relative to your ground location.
Having a concept like this where the gravity mass transfers to that of the actor could open up some interesting possibilities.
