Mistakenly used BP_character instead of Skeletal Mesh

I am using Sequencer in which i added a skeletal character with animations. I should have used the Skeletal Mesh of the character, but i mistakenly used the BP_character instead. Now, the character is not moving according to my sequencer animations, but moving on it’s own AI. How do i fix this? I tried “Assign Actor” to replace the BP_character with the Skeletal Mesh, but the axis is different and the position is wrong.

You can try making a new bp (no code / no ai) and position the skeletal mesh the same as the old bp, then assign actor.
