Missing parts and details with larger reconstruction region

Hi. I’m trying to make a model of a ruin, 200 photos. I do not understand the behavior of the program during reconstruction.
When I make a reconstruction of the whole thing (I set the reconstruction region to include the whole building) some elements are missing, like that metal mast (but also the light stone parts).
When I limit the reconstruction region to a small area, these elements are correctly reconstructed (in High details, or even in Normal - but some of them only partial).
I know that my photos are not the highest quality, but I thought that no matter what area I set - there should be the same result. I tried playing around with the photos (changing contrast, exposure), but the result is always the same.

Are there any parameters I could improve to get the same amount of detail when reconstructing the whole building? The model has:

  • High detail - 38M tris, the small part only - 996K tris
  • Normal detail - 10M tris, part only 250K tris.

I tried to lower Smoothing, Detail decimal factor, Mesh filtration factor, but nothing helps. So I wonder if it is normal that the size of the region affects the amount or visibility of the details.

I can’t add photo here, so:

Hi wowo7777,

this seems a little bit strange but could be related to the size of the region, as you are reconstructing various model’s parts. It also depends how the model was captured and which images are used for reconstruction of that part. Is it possible to share your images for some tests?

Also, did you change the reconstruction settings or did you used the predefined one?
