Metroid Water Gravity Question

I’m new to Unreal Engine and I’m currently working on a tutorial level. I have created water and wanted to create water physics like in Metroid Prime where you enter the water and your movement is sluggish and slow. I added a physics volume and it does what I need to movement-wise, but the third person is stuck floating in the air. Is there a way to set it up the water physics so the player just sinks down to the ground by can still move slow until they get out of the water?
