Melee combo system

Hello, after a long time I’ve decided to come back and try to do something. I’ve got Frank RPG Dual animations from marketplace, set a blendspace for idle/movement and jump statement in the animation blueprint. (almost the most basic things probably) Now I’m trying to create a combo system, but I don’t know how or where to start. (tried for first to play an anim montage when the left mouse button is clicked, but nothing happened). Something to mention is that the swords are part of the character (like the paragon characters).
