Maya to Unreal Rig issues

Hi I imported the default Unreal Mesh and Skeleton into Maya, and upon attaching it to my mesh and FBX eport everything blew up.
Unreal brought in my mesh in parts and white spheres were all I saw of the skeleton plus multiple import errors.
Any tutorials or tools that will work with Maya 2018 when rigging for Unreal 4?
I downloaded the Artv1 and v2 but errors galore any simple tutorials on how to do this?
Or is blender and 3d Max the better options for rigging Unreal characters?
