Mass AI Entity

Working on a zombie game where i want to have 1000s of zombies on screen at once at the peak of gameplay.

Ive started to see some great results with Animation Sharing, using BT/BB and streamlining my spawning area. I can get 250 zombies on screen quite comfortably but i wanted to push it further by utilising the Mass AI plugins. However im hitting a snag as all documentation and tutorials lean into a crowd path system using the zone graphs. I want use mass AI but i dont want to be forced into having them on a path. Is there anyway to have them just spawn in a do their own thing?

Matrix level was Tech Demo, think about it as what is max you can do with crowds in unreal. Epic is notorious, they make tech demo to get few “investor bait” buzzwords, then make presentation around it, and never really develop it further. Mass entity was one of such systems, hopefully it will see mature stage.

Also blackboards indeed are maxed out around 200-300 bots. Only mass entity will do more, and its code is quite complicated (in c++).
