Manu floats by vertex

Hi all,
I have a question for you about a material I’m workin on.
I must store in my meshes 8 float values for each vertex and use them in the material to drive some stuff. The float are read from a binary file.
At the moment I start by using vertex color, but i am limited to 4 float.

How can i add the 4 other float?
Can i create a 1d UV Map as very simple index with 1d texture?

In the future i want to read other Time step value from the binary file with again 8 float per vertex. (Read New data when a Key is press)

You could use anywhere else on the material where a texture can be used, I guess.

For instance, the WPO, which is unique per vertex.
