Making RVT Output Mask into Landscape Layer for Procedural Foliage Spawner Inclusion/Exclusion

I’ve found some nice ways to write landscape information into a runtime virtual texture. I notice there is a feature in the output labeled mask, but I haven’t found much about what it generates. What I need is a way to pass information being used to generate my RVT to the foliage inclusion/exclusion layers I am bound into using for my foliage volume. How should I go about this?
