[Major Bug] with matchmaking on certain platforms after an update goes live

Summary

I am regulary tesing pdates on different devices including cloud gaming
Lately I have noticed after an update goes live it can take up to one hour for the map to be playable on devices like cloud gaming.
If in this timeframe a player try to join it says DOWNLOADING MAP for an infinte amount of time without ever downloading

After a certain amount of time (Often around an hour after release) the map can be downloaded as normal within seconds, and the game starts as expected
I have tested on multiple cloud gaming devices and have found the same issues

Pushed another update and with this update the delayed matchmaking was way faster than an hour, currently investigating what could cause that delay

FORT-933523 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.

Thanks for letting us know. How are they loading now?

We’re having the same problem with our newest map, but the lag isn’t just after an update, it’s constant.

Our players can’t join through public or private lobbies; they’re getting matchmaking and download errors.

It’s happening not only on mobile, but also on consoles, PC, and handheld devices.

Our map code is: 6586-8735-3733
@Flak If possible, could you take a look at this as well? We think it might be a similar issue.

I am having the exact same problem with an unlisted map for weeks now and haven’t been able to publish due to players not being able to start a game,
Players get matchmaking error #1 constantly, unless its private and that works sometimes..(?)

Can confirm that I hear players report about this issue on different creative maps on fortnite. Since some days. Some having this message some got different.

Can confirm on my end this was happening on switch, took us three different tries to get into the map. We even tried rebooting the console, resetting internet, nothing. just an rng to get into the game.

We’ll get the team to take a look.

Currently loading seems fine, will have a look after I publish the next update to the game and see if it happens again. Can not say for sure if the release was the cause or matchmaking itself but for me matchmaking problems happened way too much around the time window of a published release so it is probably not a coincidence. Will have a look at the next few published updates and check if it happens again

Our players are still experiencing an error. It’s impossible to join through the public lobby, the only way is to invite a friend and try to join that way, or to play alone in a private lobby.

Here is a video showing what happens when trying to join through the public lobby.
