Lighting giant scenes.

I’m building a scene where the player is supposed to miniaturized, and runs around on a table in a regular size room. The size difference (as of right now) is 10:1. I’m having trouble lighting the environment though, because lightmass is (rightfully) treating these assets, which are supposed to at least seem as if they are in relative proximity to each other, as if they are really far apart. Because they are. Does anybody have any tips for lighting a scene like this?
