LIDAR Reconstruction gives bad solution since upgraded to new RC

Hey Community,

My 3 moth license just ended so I jumped to new version of RC with PPI licensing. I do not know if it has to do anything with my problem, but maybe.

I am using PTX or E57 from FARO TLS and photographs to fill holes and texture. Everything was working great till updating RC. It is giveing very weird solutions when I create Preview quality Reconstruction. It is even hard to explain, I post an image here.

I got this king of islands, or giant boxes instead a low tris model.

I tried setting the vertice distance and point distance too, but it did not help.

If I add photos to the project the alignment goes very well, but the Reconstruction gives very bad results. If I switch the view to vertices it looks like RC deletes 99% of points. I am exporting a 15 mil point cloud from FARO Scene.

I tried Reconstruction in Normal detail, but it is also very weird. Same solution, just with bigger chunks. No details.

Before updating RC everything was working as expected.

Any idea?

Thanks for help,

Gergely

Hello Mr. Takacs

Please navigate to Reconstruction settings and in the Laser scans category try to reset your settings and run the reconstruction process again. Also please check if the .lsp files are correct sometimes there may be issues with transformations after creating them.
