I’m trying to make parts of a mesh invisible on a characters arm in UE4 so I decided to try the new experimental layering system. I would like to get a result where I have a subsurface skin and then a completely invisible where the mesh goes into clothing. I can get the subsurface to work but I can’t get the other shader to be transparent, or I can get a transparent shader to work but then the skin shader looks like a flat (incandescent) and partially transparent. I’m starting to come to the conclusion that this layering system will not currently allow a transparent and a non transparent shader to exist together. Can someone confirm this please?
