Is the HUD class out of date?

I started on my game before UMG was a thing so I’m using a blueprint of class HUD to handle all my UI drawing. I’m using blueprint widgets from within it now, and it all works well. Just wondering if the HUD blueprint class is still the thing to use, or if you just create your widgets from within any old blueprint that makes sense now.

I personally use the HUD BP to spawn and manage my widgets. Since it’s easily accessible from anywhere it’s easy to manage stuff from it.

Why not manage your widgets directly from your character BP?

My character has enough going on as it is, and the HUD BP is right there…
