Is it possible to multithread the Alembic Importer?

I’m currently looking into a 72GB Whitewater Sim .abc file into UE5.2.
I already imported a 32Gb water surface, which took about 3-4 hours and I’m sure I’m not the first one trying to do this.

On the bottom I’ll post a link to images that show the super low Hardware usage while UE5 is converting the alembic into .uasset files.

I’d like to know if this step can be multithreaded or if this is a ram heavy task and my bottleneck is actuall the ram?

Not sure why it’s so slow, my first guess would be, the importer isn’t multithreaded.

Sweet alternative would be to get neural vdb into unreal and have the pathtracer be able to render vdbs like mantra does for water sims etc. but I’d expect that one ain’t coming soon either :smiley:
So a fix to the alemic importer would be greatly appreciated :smiley:
