Intro countdown preferred format for VR Headsets

On the off chance that anyone has designed an intro countdown for VR Headsets - is it ok for an intro to be a standard 2d centered format ?
I have read that VR HUD/GUI elements should be viewed as 3d objects otherwise they become warped and nauseating for the user - is this the same case for intros or does it matter if its only for a short period ?

It can be flat, but should ideally be decoupled from your view (e.g. a flat 2d surface that is head on, but you can look away)

Anything attached to your view can feel weird, but it’s not always nausea inducing.
