Indoor Navigation Simulator - Research Project

Hello everyone!

I’d like to showcase a project I’ve recently completed. It’s a serious game designed for testing indoor navigation apps and maps.

Key features:

  • Interior models of real university buildings created as digital twins for realistic navigation scenarios.
  • Integration with a real web-based navigation app: as you move through the virtual environment, your position updates live on your smartphone map.
  • Participant movement tracking: the system collects data on how users navigate, helping to identify which types of navigation support are most crucial for first-time visitors.
  • Accessible online via pixel streaming.

I’m currently running tests with this system, and the results will be part of my PhD research.

If you have 15 minutes to spare, I invite you to take part in my study!

Thank you for your support!
Let me know if you like it!

Hello @Kubus.Rozpruwacz ! Welcome back to posting with us on the forums!

For this research, is it best if it works somewhere indoors, strictly like a mall, airport, or another similar place?

Hello!
It depends what you mean. My research focuses on university buildings and you can participate remotely, just from your computer. But the results will be applicable for any indoor navigation - so also in malls, airports, etc.
