Importing Skeleton that has been parented in maya

I was currently rigging a mannequin, and I wanted to roll the joints like a ball. The problem is that I did not smooth bind the joints to the skin. What I have been doing is using orient constraints in order to move a single body part with a control. I was not successful in importing the model into unreal, since each object of the body was separate and not combined into a single mesh. The problem with combing everything into a single mesh is that it does not obey the current rig I have in place, so I need to smooth bind, but smooth binding doesn’t give the animation that I want it to have.

My question is how do I rigg my model so I can move each joint like a stick attached to a ball?
