How to make PhaT with more bodies or add bodies AND contraints

I have the PhAt in the attached screenshot, but want to make it finer structured. I can add bodies, but no constraint for some some reason.
Is there a way to replace every body by say 2 bodies and stitch them together with additional contraints?
