How to apply damage when particles are slower than the raycast?

In the following video you can see that the particles collide with the enemy long after the ray.

So… what happens if the enemy is able to dodge the particles? In that case no damage can be applied…

So… What is the technique used to apply damage in a case like this?

You can use projectiles, disable gravity and apply all the fx to the projectile class.
