I would like to use the Billboard component to make a got ray effect like in the cave effects example. I basically copied everything they did to their blueprint except for the construction script part and mine doesn’t billboard at all. Am I missing something? I know the texture sucks but I’m just using it as an example.
Not billboarding. Am I not supposed to use a static mesh that was imported? I saw that they used a static mesh on their example… I tried this on a plane that was in the shapes folder as well.
When you say it isn’t “billboarding”, do you mean that the plane isn’t rotating to face the camera? If so, can you check to see if this is only happening in the Blueprint editor? The Component view won’t show the mesh turning to face the camera, but it should still occur as expected while Simulating or Playing. Thanks!
Thank you for replying Ben! I just want the billboard to face the player but is locked on the z. I think it might have something to do with the material. But did try to put it into the scene and it still doesn’t work. Anyway i did some things to the material but it seems like its only working halfway. i’m not sure what I’m missing.
