How do I make my lighting look less atrocious?

Hello everyone, I’m updating this post since I’m still haven’t found a fix for some lighting issues I have been having.

The extremelly dark shadows in particular seem to be gone on some of my tree models after I messed around with the Engine Scalability settings, but it still seems to be happening on other tree models:

Here is a screenshot of the “fixed” trees. They still seem to have a few dark spots that don’t really bother me, but might be indicative of the underlying problem.

Here is a screenshot of another tree model where the shadows are still messed up:

As you can see, in comparison with the other model it’s significantly darker and does not let through nearly as much light.

I have tried messing with the “Shadow amount” and “Shadow bias” settings but they have no effect on my scene.

I currently have Nanite, Lumen, AA and HWRT enabled.

I should also quickly mention that on an environment I have with water it seems that the shadows are much darker undernath the water plane:

Thank you in advance!
