How do I get light to follow mouse direction?

I have a spotlight source connected to my characters head. The light follows the movement of the head when I look left and right, but when I try to look up and down, the light stays locked to center. Any suggestions? Should I connect the spotlight to the camera instead?

It all would depends on what or how you look left to right.

Generally this is done with an aim offset.
the aim offset would already take care of pitch and yaw if set up correctly.

If you aren’t using an aim offset then, you would first have to unlock the light from wherever you socketed it to and depending on what you are doing socket it to the correct component.

There is no “genral” setting because we have no clue if you are using any base or even a 1st person or 3rd person view.
