how do i add the detail "surface properties" to my imported mesh

Hello, I have recently found out how to add multiple materials to a model i made in maya however not the issue i have is being able to edit how the material looks in unreal.

This picture is a simple wall made in udk and you can see on the right it has surface materials so i can edit the material which was placed upon in.

However when i import my model from maya it looks like this and i cannot edit the material on the mesh

I used a cobblestone material because it shows the error easier than wood.

Any suggestions ?

Those are for BSP brushes only. You’ll need to unwrap your table in maya and create a useful UV map.

How do i do that ? could you please point me the right direction
