How can I make a customizable rope object?

The idea is to have a rope object which can easily be manipulated to have different length and form to bind stuff together. Looking for tutorials in this topic. I use blender and zbrush, but could be adapted from other apps I think. I assume it could be done with curves, though when I tried to use them it was to hard to position them correctly. Other thing which would be nice is to have the rope segmented with each segment using the same UV sapce and texture correctly. Maybe it could be done in UE4 directly…

Do it with blueprint splines. Take a look at Content Examples -> Blueprint Splines.
